Rangemore School

All Saints’ Rangemore Church of England (C) Primary School occupies a central position in the heart of Rangemore village. The original Victorian building, built in 1873, has been well maintained and extended to enable an effective learning environment for approximately 100 children.

Children and families benefit from the education offered by the Executive Head Teacher, Mrs Charlene Gethin and her team of dedicated teaching staff. Due to a good reputation and family ethos children are drawn from across the parish, as well as a broader intake from Burton on Trent, Branston and bordering villages.

All Saints is dedicated to maintaining a strong family atmosphere and culture of success, within a Christian ethos.  The whole school community believes that education should be an exciting and inspirational experience for everyone so they develop a love of learning and sense of pride in their achievements. They aim to make learning rich, diverse, creative and fun! Each person within the school family and their contribution to school life are held in high regard. A broad, themed curriculum, regular visits and visitors and extracurricular drama, sports, music, languages and study all enhance the drive for a well-rounded education.

Across four classes, the school delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (age 4 years) in class 1 with approximately 15 pupils, and the National curriculum and broader enrichment through 1, Key Stage 1 (5-7 years) class to 2, Key Stage 2 classes (age  7-11 years). At the age of 11 the children leave to commence their secondary education, the majority moving to the John Taylor High School in Barton Under Needwood.

All Saints are privileged that their school sits in the centre of the National Forest which offers opportunities for the children to explore and learn from and about their wonderful, local environment. Children have access to a large woodland for forest school and outdoor learning and a large playing field opposite the school provides a large open space for a variety of sporting activities.

All Saints is part of a federation with Needwood Church of England (VA) Primary School, Newborough; an outstanding Primary School with approximately 70 pupils in 3 classes offering the same drive for high standards and a well-rounded, broad learning experience for the pupils in their care. The Federation borne out of collaborative working with and the subsequent formal joining of these two local primary schools is known as the ‘The Forest Federation’ and enables both schools to strive and maintain excellence, working together and sharing good practice.
